Description
OsmoHort is a natural product with Glycine Betaine (N,N,N-trimethylglycine) and Proline that helps crops cope with abiotic stress such as salinity, drought, extreme temperatures, cracking, waterlogging, etc. Therefore, using OsmoHort prevents yield losses due to abiotic factors and maintains the varietal potential of the crop.
OsmoHort has been formulated to induce a synergistic response in plants under abiotic stress conditions. The components of OsmoHort allow hydrophobic domains of proteins to be more accessible to water, preventing the denaturation of plant proteins that can be caused by dehydration, and regulating cellular water flow.
Other positive effects have also been found, such as improving chlorophyll content in leaves, protecting the photosynthetic apparatus, maintaining main metabolic pathways, and preventing overproduction of ROS (reactive oxygen species).
Application of OsmoHort significantly reduces crop abnormalities, such as fruit cracking, russeting in apples and pears, and improves crop yield.
Recommended Crops
Crop | Dose (L/ha) | Remarks |
---|---|---|
Vegetables, Melon, Watermelon | 3 – 4 | First application at the beginning of flowering (first cluster) and 2 applications during fruit development (every 15 days). |
Citrus | 2 – 3 | Apply at the start of flowering and repeat during petal fall and fruit growth. |
Stone and Pome Fruits | 4 – 6 | Apply at color change and before heavy rains to prevent cracking. |
Olive | 3 – 4 | Apply at the beginning of flowering and fruit set. |
Strawberries and Berries | 2 – 4 | Three treatments during the entire growth cycle. |
Table Grapes | 3 – 5 | Apply during the vegetative cycle and fruit growth. |
Grass (Turf) | 3 – 4 | Apply every 3 weeks. |
Potato | 3 – 4 | Apply at the beginning of tuber formation. |
Compatibility
Due to its pH and composition, OsmoHort can be mixed with most fertilizers and pesticides. A prior compatibility test is always recommended. For any doubts, consult Nature Growth’s technical department.
